The National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Venezuela (El Sistema) has incorporated the mixed voices arrangement of “Clemencia” into its mandatory choral training program. This work by maestro Oswaldo Aquique is based on the emblematic golpe larense by composer Adelis Fréitez. This distinction not only enriches Venezuela’s musical heritage but also consolidates Aquique’s trajectory as one of the most distinguished arrangers in the national choral landscape.
The inclusion of this piece in the prestigious El Sistema program will allow new generations of choral singers throughout the country to perform and preserve the essence of traditional Laran music through the sophisticated vocal arrangements that characterize Aquique’s work. This recognition reaffirms his ability to transform Venezuelan folk expressions into choral works of high artistic caliber.
